Rules for Day of Champions 2022

1. For all games, all three (3) periods will be twelve (12) minutes stopped time. If there is a goal differential of five (5) or more goals, the clock will not be stopped during the 3^rd period. If the goal differential becomes less than five (5) goals, the game will continue as run time.

2. Teams will get a two (2) minute warmup before each game.

3. Penalties assessed during stopped time will be two (2) minutes in duration and penalties assessed during run time will be three (3) minutes in duration.

4. If tied after regulation, teams will play a five (5) minute stopped time 3 vs 3 sudden death overtime period. If a penalty is assessed during 3 vs 3, than the OT format will switch to 4vs3 with the penalized team having 3 players on the ice. When the penalty expires, the penalized player will return to the ice and the format will be 4 vs 4 until the next stoppage of play at which time the format will once again be 3 vs 3.

5. If teams are still tied following overtime, there will be a three (3) player shootout with the team of higher seeding choosing who shoots first. Teams will alternate shooters until all chosen players have shot. If still tied at the end of the shootout, teams will go shot for shot in a sudden death shootout. No player can shoot a second time until all players have shot once.

6. Teams are permitted one (1) thirty (30) second timeout.

7. Teams will line up on their respective blue lines following a game for MVP awards. The coach of the losing team will select one (1) MVP from his/her own team.
